interview with ann

This is an interview from one of the SAGADA11, her name is Ann, living at Marikina City Philippines. We interviewed her with a condition that we won't ask her about what happen or to re-summarized the incident of torture.

Q: What are you feeling when most of your visitors were unfamiliar faces?
A: I'm very much happy, I'd seen the true camaraderie really stands for, thinking that we are just genre-mates or let say punk-mates.

Q: Have anyone told you the actions done by the Internet Justice League?
A: Yes,

Q: What do you know about them?
A: They are the ones that help to spread the issue internationally and they were the ones that participated in the virtual sit-in done to pressure the Philippine government by means of messing with their websites.

Q: Now that you are now out in jail, tell something about it.
A: At first; we're very much happy, but just after a few days had pass, a police that introduced themselves as CHED (Commission on Higher Education) representatives and was looking for me, fortunately I was out. My mother was wise enough to trace it with the help of the CHED officials and said that they didn't send anyone the look for Ann. In the case of PETRA, someone also came to his school and showed some photos; Ray Lester (Petra) with someone in High status of the NPA (New Peoples Army), creating a hearsays, at school that Petra is a real NPA. We are required to report to the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development). We are also told that Camp Crame has an eye watching us, under surveillance

Q: Aside from being happy, what other emotion arise from being released?
A: I'm somewhat ashame, because people tells me that “so you are already out in jail”

Q: Why are you ashame when people tells you that?
A: Because my family treat me differently. When they tells me that, I'm thinking that they believed that I'm what I'm accused of. I'm also ashame also because the society is not accustomed to a girl, especially at my age, already got a piece of taste in jail.

Q: Treat differently, what do you mean, bad or good treat differently?
A: both bad and good; the society now treats me like I'm the only one that needed the help. How about those other person that need more of their reaching arms. I don't what them to treat me baby, different from the other, I just want them to treat as what they treated me before.

Q: Are you studying?
A: Yes, I'm grateful that we've reached the school's enrollment period.

Q: Now that you are studying. What are your plan?
A: Spend it schooling, time is taking a toll at me.

Q: How about going to gigs and mobilization/movements?
A: I think going to gigs would be fine, but mobilization, maybe I'll just say pass for now.

Q: What is you greatest fear?
A: I don't want that to happened to me or to anyone else anymore.

Q: You said that you would be lay lowing on the mobilization. How do you plan to contribute for you fear not to happen.
A: I've seen many points from that experience. I've seen what is wrong, and learned a lot from this experience. All I have to do, is to share this experience so that is wouldn't happen to anyone anymore.

Q: This would be my final question. What do you still need?
A: For me? Maybe your question should be not what i need, but what do the remaining SAGADA 11 needs?

Q: What do you think they need?
A: Food is a major need they have to think everyday. Food is given not to satisfy their hunger but just for the stomach to be filled with something. I think that they need money to accommodate this needs.

Examine Yourself

Self-examination is one of the most difficult and humbling processes an individual must go through but it is also one of the most important. The ancient Greeks knew that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” Over the Greek Temple at Delphi, these words were inscribed: Know thyself.

When you see a good man, think of emulating him; When you see a bad man, examine your own heart.

108th Day of Independence?

Hindi ako magsasawa I Love You "pagasa"... ahehehe

Tama ba Ito?

I don't know if I may post this article in the web, but anyway I think I have to do this for the purpose of maybe someone would pass my blog and read this. Knowing something that is very important and delicate, but have been told not to say it to anyone, keeping silent when you know this is needed to be heared, covering your eyes when you know you have to look thoroughly and carefully not to overlook detalis, is the most unncomfortable feeling I'd ever had.

My friend that is in jail in Benguet txt us and said that he is afraid and don't intend to frighten us out here, but he wish that someone would know if anything happends to one of them, killed by no one but a ghost himself. It is said that there is a person that want them dead and paid one of their cellmate to assassinate them, one-by-one 'til the last drop. The assissinator is said to gather or will recieve his weapon/gadget tommorow (TUE May 09, 2006). "Jepok" (the one that txt us) also learned this news from the guy himself, the one that had been told to kill them. At my first visit to them "russel" told me not to say this issue to anyonw... and now this is really happening, running thrue in my mind, I have no idea but just to publish this in the web.

ANO NA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sending Hopes to the 11 Comrades and Us

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

We all want to help our comrades, showing support, a million ways to show support; some friends go to Baguio to visit the 11. Some raise funds for the daily goods needed by our comrades; creating benefit gigs (Free Sagada11), printing t-shirts that depicts what happens in their captors hands. Other goes to streets, to voice out what they want for our friends in Benguet Jail. Some signs to petition campaign to keep pressure on the “shit heads”. Some sends books that help them realize that there are still someone that concerned about their thoughts and beliefs.

But some uses this campaign for their own benefit, fuck those people. Benefit Gigs, campaigning for the release of the Sagada11, funds that didn’t reach them, even halfway to Baguio. Rip-offs that you think are sincere on what they are doing but have a different intention, which is for them to shine, like the star that would eventually explode and would vacuum anything in their way into nothingness. With this, we all lost our grips for all our hopes, for a world without oppression, without borders, equality, and peace.

Inspiring things to do with someone in need; no one had asked you to help, this is your own likes; for them to realized that the other side of the world still have not let go of them. There is still someone that holds hope for them and for them to build courage in their hearts. The laws are made especially for the people, and what use are these laws if it violates our rights of self liberation. We are all that is important, and that the state is nothing without us individuals. Individuals that believes, that we are something, which means that the state must not ignore and pay no attention of us rising individuals.

We are blind not to see, we are not deaf not to overhear? We will be their hands, feet, mouths, and hearts to up-rise and revolt, we must not let go of their values and what they are fighting for. We must show those imbeciles that we are not what they are thinking of us, let us show what we individuals are made of. This will let us realize that there are nothing greater thing to do than to fight for your beliefs, and self-liberation

Who ever you put on the throne, We are ungovernable!!!

someone ask me "bakit inequate nya ang communists sa pulis?" why did the artist compare the communsits from the police? (i'm not the artist)

i told her "yung balot kasi sa gitna, yun yung mga power na parehas nila niluluklok" the balot box represents the power that they both want to grasp.

she said "pero hindi balota ang habol ng communists, overthrowing of the current system, saka hindi naman parehas ng goal ang communists at mga reaksyunaryong hung hang" communists don't fight for the balot, overthrowing of the current system, and communist do not the same goal with with the crazy counterparts.

i said "every system have there flaws, kaya bakit tatanggalin ang isang systema ng isa pang systema"

every sysytem have its flaws, so why do we take away a system and replace it with an another system

and continued "eh ang mga tao naman ay may sariling pag-iisip, bakit pa kailangan may mag-govern sa kanila" people have their own minds, they know what is right and what are the things that is good for them.

she replaid "ndi ko naman sinasabing scientifically bankrupt ang individualism, pero hindi naman irerepeat ng philippine communists, ang mistakes ng past, na fascistic at may purges" i'm not saying that individualism is a scientifically bankrupt, the have learned for its past mistakes and would not repeat itself, fascictic with purges.

the discussion goes on she tld me the role and some ideas of communism

i told her "tama naman ang communism kung yung true context ang pag-babasihan, sa tingin ko nga eh, ang communism at ang iba pa ay tunay anarchistic idea kung tama ang gamit" i think that communism are goood if its true context is the basis, somewhat same with anarchism, if only it is used and acted properly.

she maintained "sabi nga nila after communism, anarchism, pero decades later, pag internationally nagtagumpay na ang communism" as they say that after communism, after decades, anarchism, if the communism succeed.

i told her "ang problema lang ay ang mga tao pag-oras na nasa kapangyarihan na ito... wla nang tigil" the problem is with the person, ones she/he hold that power, that power would not let her/him go.

she argued "hindi naman power hungry ang communists" communist are not power hungry, and she continued with a short history about martial law in the time of the marcos regime.

i said "oo nga basta tama ang gamit, yung mga tao, ang power hungry hindi yung communist na concept" right if only it is used right, the person who is power hungry not the communist concept.

i asked her "gets mo na?" do you already grasp the idea?

and she replied "yes"

her conclusion "ako kahit punahin, oh sabihing guilty ng liberalismo, nakikifriends ako sa anarchists, kasi di naman sila ang kaaway" me whatever they say that liberation is guilty of its false action, i am friends with anarchists, because they are not enemies,

and her finale words "Same goals, different ways"

FREE SAGADA 11

TO HELP, KEEP IN CONTACT HERE [a-manila.org]

UPDATE! (2/25/2006)A Petition for the unconditional release of
the Sagada 11(eleven) was launched online, seeking active support from
various individuals and groups. International solidarity groups in
their respective countries are encouraged to pressure Philippine
Embassy officials to help release the Sagada 11.[ Read More | Sign Petition ]

ELEVEN backpackers from different parts of the country, mostly in their
teens, was arrested and tortured by Philippine National Police on
February 14 at the Halsema Highway checkpoint while they were aboard on
a dump truck, hitching their way going to Sagada Mt. Province.
According to reports, the young backpackers were only after for exploring the
mountains of the region and visit the famous tourist destination of
Sagada Mt. Province. “Little did they know that their adventure would
lead them to their most traumatic and tragic experience in life”,
stressed Manja Bayang of Cordillera Human Rights Alliance who did a
personal interview of the arrested backpackers who are still currently
detained at Benguet Provincial Jail.

The backpackers suffered “punches, kicks from feet wearing combat
shoes and smacks from the butts of M-14s and M-16s”, said Bayang, only
to force the innocent teenage backpackers admit a crime that they never
in their life committed. The eleven backpackers were forced to admit
that they took part with the recent attack of New Peoples Army raid of
Camp Cabiten in Mangkayan, Benguet, on February 10, 2006. The innocent
teenagers were charged with Robbery and Homicide.

“This has been a tragic and traumatic experience for us. We no
longer feel safe to travel anywhere in the country because the very
persons whom we depend to support us are the very ones who would
subject us to unbearable and unimaginable physical, mental and
emotional torture,” weeps Manja Bayang.[ Read More ]

A World Without

An issue about “bayanihan”, one evening I have watch a TV presentation about a Hospital in La Union which accommodate poor patients. They help the less fortunate by providing them free health care that would take concern of their wellbeing.

The people are not blind and don’t lack emotions, they know how they could help the hospital to continue its services. Because of taking care of them, the people return their gratitude by generously offering their assistance, like helping in the cleaning of the hospital. The people also offer vegetables to the hospital, for the crews’ and other patients’ diet.

I also feel great about what one of the interviewed doctor said ”kahit na kunting patak lang sa ulan, pag-madami naman diba ay pwedeng mo ring namang ipang paligo”. This denote that we can do anything we like, if we all only take a part of the cause. This also means a lot for me, I belief that a world which is given to us, is free and no one have the right to tell me that this is his/her. I also think that all of us want this “free world”. A world without thinking what will one do tomorrow in order to live the next day? If we all want this, why won’t we do something about it? If only we try to achieve this goal?

ALL OF US ARE IN DANGER

Once there was man, who always in strife for his life

This man who would serve his master until he die

If I am the man in this line, a think I will cry

I won’t let my whole life be full of fright

And at the moment, all of us are in danger

Under the tyrant of our existence

To resist our future hunger

We shall UNITE!!! And we shall WIN!!!

Let us make a strike

We had to stand, we had to fight

SHATTER all termites!!! Until they grind……..

BND Makati (Nov. 23rd-25th)

A mapping was done and is planned on how to destroy the ATM machines. With that plan the collective proposed to wear outfit not related to black blocked tactics, we used some decoy outfit so that authorities and others would not prejudice on us.

At the first day of the celebration although the plan was good, we have cancelled the movement due to lack of materials to execute the plan. So we organized in the second day, where 3 spots were the target of the action. First target most of the ATM machines along J.P. Rizal, second would be Makati Avenue, third would be Gen. Luna Street. We used glue and cards to block the ATM card slot of each machine.

Another affinity of the collective organized to block some more teller machines beyond our planned target.

Buy Nothing Day (BND) Activities

“the state will not just disappear, ATTACK!!!”

There were several activities proposed by different affinity groups/collectives.

Proposed activity like Table Diving where we will scab food to show that people are starving and will do anything in order to survive, people will tend to do crimes just to serve their family enough food to survive for a day.

ATM blocking/gluing where the ATM card slots are jammed by placing a cardboard resize like an ATM card and then glued. This will help lessen consumers to buy capitalist’s goods. Also destroying the integrity of the bank and would cost them money for repair of the ATM machines.

Poster pasting where a BND poster will be paste to capitalist establishments and were most people would see the poster like streets, and walls. Alternative news site are also pasted together with the BND poster. This would help people know the meaning/roots of the BND celebration, why we are war with the capitalist and the state.

Creepy Crawlers; where insects will be released at the mall’s food court to cut consumer and undignified the malls reputation. In this; less shoppers would go to this malls, lessening income of the this malls

Art Attack; the main objective of this action is to paralyzed the transactions of an establishment in Cainta. In doing this, cost the capitalist millions of pesos in lost revenues. The fascist would be fooled together with the mainstream media. And we are hoping that shopper will be traumatized and would not return to that establishment.

Why Celebrate Buy Nothing Day?

In our times, many Multinational Corporation tries to invade our lives by means of their hypnotic materials, using media as their tool of brainwashing our minds, so that they would sell their product by means of demands.

This corporation is also the cost for the earth obliteration. Keeping their cost low by not filtering their waste and be released trough the air/water. Using GMO to produce more goods but killing the land’s minerals. They are concentrated on creating more money leaving mother earth bare naked on pollutions, ignoring what would happen next.

We wish that this corporation would stop their activities and be pity on what they have done and tired of doing it. And for the people that want to stop them…… we must ATTACK, because they would not just disappear.

Art Jamming

Nov. 25th of year 2005, a collective from Cainta, Makati, Pasig, and Urdaneta celebrates Buy Nothing Day and create an Art Jamming Session in part of this celebration.

To paralyze work inside the establishment is the main objective of the celebration. Paralyzing the work would also halt the consuming of goods. Every consumer that consume would help the capitalist (the so called “ruling class”) to earn more money and abuses to environment so that they may suppress others in order to earn more money.

But every action needs a careful planning and tactics. The collective first share ideas of what kind of Art Jam the collective should generate. The collective also work the floor plan of establishment, finding how many guards there is and looking for weak spot where we can integrate our Art inside; this is done so that the art can enter the establishment without any suspicion. The collective also plan on what the Art should look like and it’s materials. The individuals where asked if they willing to take part of the Art Jam; in order for the Art Jam to be a success the collective need as many as much participants with strong conviction on the goal of this celebration.

The celebration was such a success; the management led all the people including the workers outside the establishment. Many capitalist inside the establishment close there shops and send their workers home but are been paid for the days work or should I say for not working on that day (I hope, or else…...).

The capitalist would not just wither away, thus we must attack, for waiting is defeat.

Life After Death?

There was a time when the sun is at its peak; maybe around 12:00n.n. I wake up; coming from nowhere imagined may my long lost issue about what if there is no heaven? What if there is no life after this? Imagine that you are just sleeping for the rest of your life.

While lying in a bed, in a sofa or any place we feel comfortable, close your eyes then envision that you are growing faster and are getting older and older; your body drops, your heart failed to give/pump air and blood to your other parts of your body and then suddenly you stop. Thinking all this; that state where you end/stop doing anything, is the end of dreaming; is the same state you would ever have for the rest of your life/death; no reincarnation, no other dimensions, and is it safe to say no heaven?

Aren’t you afraid of those things are true enough? Aren’t you afraid that no one remembers you because you are insignificant to there live? Aren’t you afraid of not even leaving a tiny hint, which once in this era there was YOU that existed. And still, you are doing nothing. Lend a hand to others in their struggles in life and for life, do the things that might touch the heart of a person; may this person say “on one occasion in my existence, their where a person that have shared me with a portion of his life”

Religion Insanity

In today’s world, many religions have come to this earth: Buddhist, Catholic, Christians, Jewish, Krishna, Muslims, and etc. Many of them are fighting, questioning others credibility, others teachings, and some are just criticizing others belief.

But the world do not need a religion this more credible; the world only needs spirituality. Spirituality is more significant than religious conviction; this will help us to appreciate others stand for their faith. This will also lead us to a more/healthier sense of being complete.

And all that I’m trying to say is that, those religions do not need to brawl, because they are speaking of the same God and the only difference is that they have different names: Ala, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Jose Rizal, Krishna, and etc…; just like having different languages, different voice tone, and different skin color, for different places/countries.

God may be the Universe. God may be the planets that have their own orbit to circle around. God may be moons, the sun, and the million of millions of stars that lightened up our life. God may be Nature that supports our life. God may be the great force that everybody exerts for a common and greater cause; and that is to make the world a better place to exist. But I’m only sure of one thing and that, God is within every one of us!!!
